Wisconsin does not have an abundance of energy resources. We don’t have oil, coal, natural gas, or uranium reserves. Instead, Wisconsin is forced to import most of its fossil fuels, sending dollars and jobs out of state in order to satisfy our energy needs.
But Wisconsin does have biomass, an alternative to fossil fuels that is good for both the environment and the economy.
The WBIA’s Bio Power Initiative is project of the WBIA that works to encourage the growth of the bio power industry in Wisconsin. Growing this industry in our state is crucial for ensuring a stable environment and growing our struggling economy. Encouraging the use of home-grown biomass is a key part of keeping jobs and dollars in state.
The Initiative aims to encourage this industry through public education and outreach, our Bio Power Coalition and bimonthly Bio Power Meetings.
