MILWAUKEE – The Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance (WBIA) is urging Wisconsin legislators to continue to push for expanded use of ethanol as gas prices continue to rise.

Joshua Morby, Executive Director of the WBIA, and WBIA member Steve Christensen of Western Wisconsin Energy are traveling to Madison today to attend Ag Day at the capitol and meet with legislators.

“We are looking forward to our meetings with the members of the State Legislature,” said Morby.  “It is important that they hear directly about how crucial ethanol is to the state’s agriculture economy.”

Ethanol is even more critical for Wisconsin’s economy as recent pricing data has suggested that on average E85 is about 16% cheaper than regular gasoline at the pump.

Ag Day at the Capitol is the largest gathering of farmers from across the state representing a variety of farm groups to learn more about state issues and meet with their state legislators.

The Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance is a diverse group of businesses, environmental groups and statewide and local organizations that have come together to build both public and legislative awareness of the Bio Industry in Wisconsin.
