MADISON, PENNSYLVANIA –Joshua Morby, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance (WBIA) visited the Coskata Cellulosic Ethanol Plant in Madison, Pennsylvania on Wednesday and learned about their advanced technologies for ethanol production.
“Today’s visit to the Coskata Cellulosic plant in Madison was extremely interesting and educational,” said Morby. “It was fascinating to see firsthand the unique process that they use to produce cellulosic ethanol.”
The Coskata facility produces ethanol from numerous non-food based feedstocks, including woody biomass, agricultural waste, sustainable energy crops and construction waste. It is built on the back of the Westinghouse Plasma plant and uses the synthetic gas produced from that process to produce the ethanol.
More information on the Coskata facility’s process is available at www.coskata.com/process.
“The team at Coskata is truly paving the way for future biofuel production in the United States and around the globe,” said Morby.
The Wisconsin Bio Industry Alliance is a diverse group of businesses, environmental groups and statewide and local organizations that have come together to build both public and legislative awareness of the Bio Industry in Wisconsin.
